Lauren E. Arent,  age 61, of Issaquah, died at Overlake Hospital on October 20, 2001.

Mr. Arent was born on February 13, 1940 in Stockville, Nebraska, the son of Ted and June Arent.  He was raised in North Platte, Nebraska where he graduated from high school.  He married Patricia M. Wellhouser in 1962.  

Mr. Arent received a bachelors degree from the University of Arizona and received a Master's degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology. In addition he graduated from the Navy Test Pilot School.  Mr. Arent served with the United States Air Force for 21 years and retired as a Major. The family moved to Issaquah in 1980 and he went to work for Boeing as a flight test engineer.  Mr. Arent was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  His hobbies included planes, trains, automobiles and tractors.

In addition to his wife Patricia he is survived by a son Kevin Arent, of Kent; a daughter Shawna Crombie and her husband Rob, of Maple Valley;  his mother June Arent and sister Linda and her husband Jim Thompson, all of North Platte. He was preceded in death by his brother Jon in 1966 and his father Ted in 1983.
